The original Thoresby Hall in the background would burn down twenty years later, c.1745, and a second and third hall were later built.

Thoresby in Fall. Marie R Pierrepont Born in 1889 as Marie-Louise Roosevelt Butterfield, she married Gervas Evelyn Pierrepont in 1918. When he succeeded his cousin as the 6th Earl Manvers in 1940, she was named Countess Manvers.
